Based at Lakes Creek State School, our Community Hub is a welcoming, friendly space for families, children, and the wider community to connect, learn, and access support. Part of the Community Hubs Australia initiative, our Hub provides programs and services that aim to strengthen local communities, enhance wellbeing, and support children, families, and individuals. We work alongside local services to offer referrals, programs, and interagency partnerships that help people thrive. All of our activities and programs are open to everyone in the community — we’d love to see you there!

Meet Our Community Hub Coordinator
Mr Branden Alberts - Community Hub Coordinator.
“Hi! I’m Branden Alberts, a proud Ghungalu descendant, and I pay my respects to the Traditional Custodians of the land where I live and work — the Darumbal People. My role at Lakes Creek State School includes supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of our students and families, connecting them to community services, and delivering engaging early years programs in our Community Hub.
I also coordinate our Rugby League program, organise Reconciliation and NAIDOC Week events, and support the school’s Health and Safety initiatives. On a personal note… go the Cowboys!”
Playgroup with Miss Judy
We run a weekly playgroup for children from birth to pre-Prep:
For over 23 years, Lakes Creek State School has welcomed the community through these playgroups, providing a safe and engaging environment where children can explore, learn, and develop social skills. Families are warmly invited to attend — you don’t need to be enrolled at the school.
For more information, check our school newsletter or contact the school office.
