Over 150 Years of Learning and Community!
For more than 150 years, Lakes Creek State School has proudly served generations of local families.
The school first opened on 1 October 1872 as a provisional school. After a brief closure in 1874, it re-opened on 21 May 1877, again operating as a provisional school. In January 1895, the school was officially established on the site it continues to occupy today.
From humble beginnings on just 0.8 hectares, our campus has expanded to approximately 5.3 hectares. As the surrounding community has grown, so too have our facilities, resources, and programs. Classrooms are well resourced with new technology, new learning spaces developed, and grounds enhanced to support contemporary teaching and learning.
While much has changed over time, our commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and high-quality education has remained constant. We honour the legacy of those who came before us while continuing to evolve to meet the needs of today’s learners and tomorrow’s leaders.
We are proud of our heritage and the strong community connections that continue to shape our school today.
